Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Calida Holding, a globally active company manufacturing premium underwear, is to hire 100 new persons by the end of August 2022 at a new plant, which will be open in Sibiu (Sibiu County). Entering the Romanian market is part of the company’s brand expansion strategy until 2025. The new production facility is an important factor for continuing the expansion of the company's operations and producing smaller series and batches of all product categories. The new location in the EU presents advantages to the manufacturer, which will continue to focus on short distribution distances, low emissions and high social standards.
The company was founded in 1941 and its headquarters is located Switzerland. Calida has subsidiaries in Hungary, Germany, France, the USA, Tunisia, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Currently, the company has a workforce of 2,400.
