Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Saab Dynamics, an affiliate to Swedish military material manufacturer Saab Group, has announced the recruitment of 100 new employees in Karlskoga, Central Sweden. Saab Dynamics manufactures for instance war missiles and robots. In addition to the recruitment of Karlskoga, the company will hire several hundred employees in other locations, but there is no information available regarding the exact locations and the exact figures.
According to the company, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to a significantly increased interest in the military material manufactured by Saab Dynamics. In particular, the Ground Combat division is expanding rapidly due to the new clients and orders. Finding a competent workforce is a central bottleneck for expansion.
The company was founded in 1937. According to Saab Group's website, the company employs approximately 18,000 worldwide. Approximately 900 people work at the Kalrskoga manufacturing site. Saab is divided into four business areas: Aeronautics, Dynamics, Surveillance and Kockums.
