Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Car lights manufacturer Odelo Bulgaria- a subsidiary of the Turkish company Bayraktarlar Group- plans to hire 100 employees for its second factory in Plovdiv. The factory was opened in April 2022. The company is recruiting machine operators, electricians, mechanics, maintenance technicians and electricians. On-the-job training will be provided to new employees.
The factory in Plovdiv produces spare parts. After increasing its revenue to BGN 49 million (€25 million ) in 2021, the company expects to add another 70% to its turnover in 2022.
Odelo Bulgaria supplies mainly Mercedes, BMW and Audi with car lights and spare parts for them. Investments in this plant amount to € 7.6 million. Currently 100 people work there. In May 2022, the company employed 450 people in all Bulgaria, 40% of them are women.
Previous business expansion of the company was recorded in the ERM database in 2019, when the creation of 450 new jobs was announced (Odelo Bulgaria-2019-BG).
