Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Airbus Helicopters Magyarország (Hungary)- a joint venture of European aerospace manufacturer Airbus and the Hungarian state- inaugurated its production site in Gyula. The plant will soon start the test run with a staff of already more than 50 people. In the next 4-5 years, Airbus Helicopters Hungary has announced to hire around 200 people- 50 will be recruited only by the end of this year. To ensure the supply of qualified staff, the firm cooperates with the nearby Békéscsaba Centre of Vocational Training. The plant will produce high-precision components for the airframes and dynamic systems of civilian and military helicopters. The components will be either used for new helicopters or as replacement parts.
The Airbus plant is the first newly built production site in Gyula since 1979. The local government of Gyula hopes the arrival of a technological giant is a harbinger of a broader wave of índustrialisation in the town and over time, as the suppliers and competitors of Airbus will establish local production capacities.
