Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Belgian group Vandemoortele, which is specialised in the manufacture of bread, pastries and industrial pastries, has announced the recruitment of 50 employees by April 2023, the date of the opening of its third site in Torcé (Ille-et-Vilaine), a new factory costing €25 million. The plant will house a brand new production line dedicated entirely to Viennese pastries in order to meet the growing demand from professionals in all sectors for high-quality Viennese pastries. The laying of the foundation stone is scheduled for September 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the end of April 2023. This future site will increase production capacity by 25,000 tonnes per year. The company, which already employs nearly 450 people in the two existing sites at Torcé, will create 50 new jobs by April 2023, more than 10% of the current workforce.
