Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French railway manufacturer Alstom has announced that it will create 150 new jobs at its digital product development centre in Katowice. The company is expanding its centre and plans to hire IT specialists, who will cooperate with other Alstom engineering centres in Italy, Sweden and Belgium.
Alstom operates in 70 countries and employs over 70,000 people globally. In Poland, the company employs over 4,000 people at eight units located in Katowice, Wrocław, Łódź, Warsaw, Toruń, and Piaseczno and at three plants located in in Chorzów, Wrocław and Świętochłowice. Poland hosts the company’s headquarters for Central and Eastern European region.
Early this year another business expansion of Alstom was announced, with 300 jobs created in January (Alstom-2022-PL).
