Description
Dutch car navigation systems company TomTom has announced that it will dismiss 208 employees in Lodz. The reason for these layoffs is internal restructuring, and is part of the global corporate restructuring strategy announced at the beginning of June. The dismissal will mainly affect employees responsible for creating maps because their work can be performed by automatic machines.
TomTom was founded in 1991 in the Netherlands. It currently employs 5,000 worldwide.
Previous business expansions for Poland were announced in September 2017, with 100 jobs created (TomTom-2017-PL) and in 2015, with 120 jobs created (TomTom-2015-PL)
