Description
Bierbaum, a German textile manufacturer has announced the decision to cease almost all bed linen production by end of 2023. This will involve the closure their site in Bydgoszcz, Poland (Bierbaum 2022 - PL) and cuts at its production plant in Borken, Germany (Bierbaum 2022 - DE). The company currently employes 180 people in Bydgoszcz and will implement 150 layoffs in Borken, therefore a total of 330 jobs will be lost.
The measures will be implemented over the next year and completed by the end of 2023. The company has also anounced that some production will be relocated in Pakistan.
The Bierbaum Group employes over 900 people worldwide and has its headquarters in Borken, Germany.
