Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Telecommunications and internet service provider Three Ireland is to create 175 new jobs at its Limerick customer experience centre over the next four years. The new staff are being employed to support Three UK business customers. The new jobs will include both full-time and part-time positions and include roles in Customer Care, Team Leaders, Operations and Management. Tánaiste Leo Varadkar welcomed the news.
Three is Ireland’s largest telecommunications provider, with over 3 million customers. The Limerick customer experience centre was established over 20 years ago and currently employs almost 400 people.
A former business expansion was recorded in the ERM database in 2014, with 130 jobs created (Three Ireland-2014-IE)
