Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Mátranovák plant of French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom will create 100 new jobs by the end of this year. Most new positions are for welders, locksmiths and CNC operators. Alstom will provide mentors for every new employee to help their integration. Also, a new proprietary welding simulator will be used in the training process.
The Mátranovák plant – one of the largest employers in Nógrád county – produces bogie frames, a key part for metro and rail wagons, the manufacturing of which involves demanding and high-quality welding tasks. The output of the plant is exported to France and Germany. The firm is investing about €3.3 million at the Mátranovák plant to expand its production capacity and product portfolio.
Alstom has production units in nine countries within the Central Eastern European region. In Hungary, apart from the Mátranovák plant, it has a signalling system installation depot in Szolnok and a commercial office in Budapest.
