Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nuclearelectrica, a majority state-owned producer of electricity, heat and nuclear fuel, operating under the authority of the Ministry of Energy, is to hire 500 new persons by the end of 2022. To do so, the company launched the recruitment platform "Nucleus of Excellence". The platform seeks to attract new employees and contribute to training a new generation of specialists in the nuclear industry. The platform also aims to provide career opportunities for Nuclearelectrica employees and to ensure that a sufficiently large pool of specialists is available to match the development and investment strategy that the company has in place until 2031.
Nuclearelectrica operates two CANDU nuclear reactors at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant and is in the process of building an integrated fuel cycle system. The company is a key national energy provider, ensuring more than 18% of total energy production and more than 33% of carbon-free energy production in Romania.
Currently, the company has a workforce of 2,300.
