Bierbaum, a German textile manufacturer headquartered in Borken, NRW, Germany, has announced 150 job cuts at its production plant in Borken, NRW, Germany.
The reason for the job cuts is the company's decision to cease bed linen production in Germany by spring 2023. According to Bierbaum, the job cuts only affect positions in production. The company announced on June 13th 2022 that the transformation measures will be implemented over the next year and completed by the end of 2023. The company explains that some production steps will be relocated in Pakistan in the course of 2023.
The works council and the trade union are preparing for negotiations with the management. In June 2022 it is unclear what kind of job reduction measures are planned.
The Bierbaum Group employs over 900 people at 6 locations and has a turnover of €127 million.
