Description
Offshore drilling company Maersk Drilling has announced to cut 135 jobs in Norway. The dismissal process will start at the beginning of April and is set to be concluded by this year. The restructuring is a result of a difficult contract situation for the company's drilling rigs. Maersk Drilling also cut jobs in Norway in 2020 (Maersk Drilling 2020 NO) and at its national headquarters in 2021. Trade union representatives have been in consultations with the company and describe the cuts as very difficult, yet conducted in a correct manner. The layoffs will adhere to the seniority principle.
The company currently employs 597 people in Norway.
