Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Low-cost airline, Ryanair, is to create 200 new jobs in Shannon, county Clare. The jobs will be at the airline’s newly opened heavy maintenance facility.
The €10 million “state-of-the-art” facility is the first one Ryanair has located in Ireland. The 5,220 square metre, three-bay site is leased from the Shannon Group and according to Ryanair, it will support the budget airline to grows to 600 aircraft by 2026.
The jobs to be created at the maintenance facility include licensed engineers, mechanics and support staff.
A previous business expansion was recorded in the ERM database early in 2022, with 150 jobs created in Dublin (Ryanair-2022-IE).
