Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Biotech company Horizon Therapeutics is to create 100 jobs in Ireland over the next 18 months. The company has just opened its new headquarters on St.Stephen's Green in Dublin. Half of the new jobs will be based there. The other 50 jobs will be based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Waterford, which was opened last year, and the new positions will be for science and engineering specialists. Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed the announcement.
Horizon Therapeutics is specialised in rare disease medicines. It currently employs 200 people across finance, legal, technical operations and research and development. The company has had its global headquarters in Dublin since 2014.
