Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A1 Hrvatska, the internet and telephone provider, has opened a new call centre in City of Osijek employing 70 new workers. The reason for such call-centre is to provide better and faster service to local population and to strengthen its position in eastern Croatia. A1 Croatia has invested in arranging an additional 600 square meters of modern and functional office space, which completes the working space in Eurodom to about 1,000 square meters.
Most of new employees have to undergo education and training. The company is fully aware that those working in the call-centre are its mirror and therefore it has continuously invested in their education and digital tools in order to do the job to the satisfaction of customers.
A1 Hrvatska employs over 1800 employees in Croatia. With these new employments, Osijek becomes the second largest A1 business centre after Zagreb.
