Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Canada-based Magna International (Magna), a company producing electronical equipment, is opening a new plant in Kechnec, Slovakia and will hire 600 new people until 2027. The brownfield facility will manufacture Level 2 ADAS solutions, as well as technologies for the electric vehicle market, such as advanced front camera modules and in-cabin cameras, electronic control units for inverters used in electric vehicles. Presently, Magna is hiring for a number of roles, including managers, operators and engineers. The facility located on an area of around 22,000 square metres will start operations with 100 workers in the fourth quarter of 2022 and then will reach 600 employees by 2027.
