Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
To cope with a new contract with Ineos, the logistics company Seifert has announced the recruitment of 120 people over the next few weeks: new employees will have to be operational by July, when the third pre-production phase of the 4x4 vehicle Grenadier begins. The group is mainly looking for forklift truck operators and workers to carry out the pre-assembly of small parts for the Grenadier. The salary offered is at least €1,500 net per month, with a company contribution of €4 for luncheon vouchers (which cost €6.70 per day worked) and mileage allowances of 20 cents per kilometre, capped at 100 km per day.
Seifert plans to hire more people in 2023. The company will recruit another 160 people on permanent contracts, by transforming temporary jobs into permanent contracts.
The company currently employs 160 people in France.
