Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Kitchen furniture manufacturer Schmidt Groupe has announced the recruitment of 200 people at its site located in Sélestat (Bas-Rhin). New positions are mainly for production and maintenance operators and technicians. This site has just been extended with a new 20,000m² production building which should eventually manufacture around 400 kitchens per day. The investment is part of the €150 million investment plan announced at the end of 2021. Repeated lockdowns linked to the COVID-19 crisis and the extension of the use of teleworking have led to an explosion in demand.
The group employs 7,900 people worldwide for a turnover of €1.9 billion. In France it employs 1,770 people.
