American multinational medtech company Boston Scientific is to create 300 new jobs at its plant in Galway, following a €100 million investment. The Galway plant activities include advanced product design, research and development and manufacturing of a range of medical devices. Taoiseach Micheál Martin welcomed the news.
Currently, Boston Scientific has a workforce of more than 6,500 people across its three Irish sites - in Galway, Clonmel and Cork – with 4,150 employed at the Galway site.
The company has started operations in Galway in 1994.
