Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The airline company Vueling, which belongs to IAG Group, is going to increase its innovation staff by 20%, with 100 new hires in different parts of Spain (mainly in Barcelona, Zaragoza and Bilbao), throughout the year 2022. Thus, the company's innovation teams will grow from 500 to 600 employees. They are looking for profiles for programming, data analysis and data engineering, among others, with the added objective of increasing the proportion of women. The aim is to develop solutions to improve customer service, react faster to unforeseen events in routine operations, optimise aircraft maintenance and forecast variations in demand, for example. (In April 2022, with the announcement, no particular dates have been specified for job creation, but it is expected that it will be in 2022).
