Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Doctolib Group, a French enterprise operating scheduling and teleconsultation of medical appointment, announced that it had raised €500 million in funding, which will be used to create 3,500 jobs within five years, in France, Germany and Italy. In Italy, 200 new jobs will be created by the end of 2022.
The investment comes mainly from French fund Eurazeo and public investment bank Bpifrance, which have already been shareholders since 2017 and remain Doctolib's main shareholders. With this fundraising, Doctolib becomes the largest French unicorn. The development will be devoted to software to be made available to private doctors, nurses and physiotherapists, hospitals.
Doctolib was founded in 2013 in France, and it is operating in Italy since 2021. Currently, it employs 200 people in Italy.
