Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Ateliers de Vitré (formerly Maison Texier) has announced the recruitment of 100 employees over the next 12 months in Vitré. The company is looking for 80 leatherworkers and 20 fitters, technicians, and logisticians. Both experienced and unexperienced profiles are welcome, as candidates will be internally trained. In 2021, the company has launched a €1.3 million investment programme to bring its industrial facilities, i.e., its machines, up to the highest level of excellence and to digitalise the production chain. The company received €75,000 in support from the France Recovery Plan.
Ateliers de Vitré is a subcontractor for major luxury brands and currently employs 160 people, including 140 craftsmen. In 2015 the company was acquired by Renaissance Luxury Group.
