Telemedicine company NP Medical has announced the recruitment of 220 permanent staff within three years. half of them nurses. The company offers a telemedicine service, Satelia, which monitors patients with heart failure. Patients stay at home and report information on their smartphone: they fill in a questionnaire at regular intervals, answering questions about their general health, weight, or symptoms. As the application knows their health condition, if the answers are worrying it triggers warning signals, which are sent to their doctor. The doctor then decides what to do, whether to change the patient's treatment, see him or her for a consultation, or hospitalise the patient. The service is prescribed by a doctor and is fully reimbursed by social security. Half of the new positions will be for nurses, that will help patients enter data on Satelia. According to the company, the salaries that will be offered will be more attractive than in hospitals (€2,100 net for a full-time equivalent).
