Description

The airline Norwegian is reopening its base in Helsinki airport and is thus recruiting 50 pilots and 100 cabin crew. The airline is planning to operate 27 routes from Helsinki in the summer of 2022. The reopening will make Norwegian the second largest airline company at Helsinki airport. New recrutitment will be the first one based in Helsinki since the closure of the base two years ago, due to the onset of the COVID-19 -pandemic. Norwegian filed for bankruptcy in Finland in the summer of 2020 (Norwegian Air Resources Finland- 2020-FI) .

The airline has recently also reopened its’ base in Stockholm, Sweden, hiring 270 new staff (Norwegian-2022-SE).

Norwegian is the fourth largest low-cost carrier in Europe. At the end of 2021, Norwegian employed 3,600 people, of which 2,100 were based in Norway, where the company is originated.
