Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Alstom, a French multinational manufacturer of rolling stock, has announced it will hire 150 employees in Belgium, at its facilities in Brugge and Charleroi. The company is mainly looking for engineers, ICT specialists and project managers. According to Alstom, recruitment is driven by "the success of the rail sector to move towards a more green and smart mobility". To reach out to as many potential jobseekers as possible, the company is organising a 'jobinar' on March 17.
Currently, Alstom employs about 1,950 people in Belgium at its sites in Charleroi, Bruges, Brussels and Mechelen.
