Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Information technology company TietoEVRY is planning to cut 600 jobs in Nordic countries, out of which 160 in Finland. The company has initiated consultations with trade unions in each country. Job reductions will be completed by the end of 2022 and will mainly affect administrative positions.
TietoEVRY has launched an efficiency program, aimed at saving 50 million euros each year to invest in automation. TietoEVRY pledges to offer workers reskilling opportunities and possibilities for internal mobility across the company.
TietoEVRY is a leading Nordic digital services and software company with headquarters in Helsinki. In Finland, the company has around 3,361 employees at 15 locations.
In early 2021, TietoEVRY relocated 160 jobs from Estonia to Finland (TietoEVRY- Finland-2021). In September 2021, the company announced recruitment for 500 people (TietoEVRY- Finland- 2021).
