The Austrian subsidy of the German chip manufacturer Infineon has opened a new production plant on its grounds in Villach (south of Austria), creating 400 new jobs. The fully automated production line will contribute to meet the increasing demand of microchips and requires additional stuff for maintainance, control, research and development.
With 46,665 employees and a revenue of € 8.567 billion (2020), the german company Infineon is one of the largest semiconductor manufacturers of the world. This business expansin follows another opening of a research and development in Linz in 2019 (Infineon2019 - AT).
