Autoeuropa VW's car manufacturer located in Palmela, Portugal will reduce its workforce until 2023. The decrease of the expected production in 2022 is the main reason pointed out for this decision (a reduction of 53,000 vehicles compared to 2021).
The administration already has a voluntary termination programme in place, which led to a voluntary termination of approximately 70 employees. Despite the number of terminations is not yet defined, the drop in production could put at risk up to 900 jobs.
