The US multinational company Amazon has announced an investment of 2.5 billion euros in the new centres of its division AWS (Amazon Web Services) in Spain (specifically in Aragon) from 2022. AWS is the world's leading cloud services provider, being one of the most profitable divisions of the Amazon Group. This investment will involve the creation of 800 permanent jobs over the next five years and a total of 1,300 over a period of ten years. This employment expansion includes both data centre employees and sales workers. Spain will be the fifth country in Europe with AWS centres after Germany, Ireland, UK and France. This announcement comes after Amazon creates 1200 jobs in its new logistic centre in Murcia and 600 in other logistic centres throughout Spain.
