Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Emz, a German company which manufactures components for household appliances as well as closure and control systems for smart bins, will invest €5 million in a production facility in Resita (Caras-Severin County). Initially, it will employ up to 100 people and production will start in the autumn of 2022. The company has already set up a local subsidiary and is currently planning the new investment.
Emz is based in Bavaria and cooperates with well-known companies in the household appliances sector such as BSH, Electrolux, Liebherr, Miele, Samsung and Whirlpool. After Germany and the Czech Republic, Romania will be the third EU country where the company has production facilities.
