Description
At the beginning of October 2021 the German energy company Uniper announced it will restructure its business and 700 employees will loose their jobs in its plant in Gelsenkirchen in North-Rhine Westphalia. The company explained this move with poor business development and its planning to move into the field of renewable energies. The job cuts will mainly affect electricians, engineers and other personnel. So far, no time frame was released for the redundancies.
Uniper employs a total of 12,000 employees worldwide and announced to shed a total of 1,100 jobs. Other plants will also be affected in The Netherlands and in UK.
