Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Germany-based retail company Aldi has announced the creation of about 250 jobs at its new technology centre in Kraków by the end of 2022. The company is to hire IT specialists to boost digitalisation and technological transformation of business processes. The new centre focuses on the cooperation of internal and external IT specialists and works on projects and IT solutions for the Aldi Nord Group.
Aldi, the discount supermarket chain, was founded in 1946 in Germany. Currently, the company has over 11,000 stores in 20 countries employing more than 125,000 people. The chain has been operating in Poland since 2006. Besides the activities in Kraków, the company is to develop IT solutions in Essen, Germany.
