Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The South Korean chemical company SK hi-tech battery materials Poland announced that it plans to create additional 600 jobs at its new production facility in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland by the end of 2023. Located in the Katowice Special Economic Zone, the factory was officially launched in October 2021, and so far, 400 employees have been hired at the site. The company is to create in total 1,000 positions in the location. In Poland, the company plans to invest in total PLN 6.5 billion (€1.40 billion) in facilities specializing in the production of lithium-ion battery separators for electric cars.
SK hi-tech battery materials Poland is a subsidiary of SK group. The company operates in various fields from petroleum production, refining, chemicals, lubricants as well as batteries for electric cars and their components.
Previous business expansion was announced in January 2021 (300 jobs created).
