Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithuanian retail company Palink, the operator of Iki supermarkets, is to create around 362 new jobs across different regions of Lithuania in 2021, as the company is planning to open several new stores in the country.
The company is currently looking for more than 360 employees in retail trade, manufacturing, and other sectors. According to the management, the majority of current open positions (around 200) are for cashiers.
Palink is the second largest retail chain in Lithuania operating under the brand Iki. The company was founded in 1991 and currently it is one of the largest employers in Lithuania, with 233 stores that employ 5,786 people. Palink belongs to the REWE group, one of the largest retail chains in Germany.
