Description

Ireland-based airline Ryanair will launch 26 new routes from Lisbon, Porto and Faro, Portugal, which will create 300 new jobs. The new positions will include engineers, pilots and cabin crew. The company's president, Michael Kevin O'Leary, states that they will be "well-paid jobs". Raynair will invest almost €255 million in three new planes in Lisbon, moving to seven planes in total.

Ryanir has accused the airline TAP of artificially blocking slots in Lisbon's airport, impeding the expansion of other airlines. The Ryanair Chairman states that the company will be able to have 200 slots per week in Lisbon if slots at the airport are not blocked by the Portuguese flag airline TAP.
