Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS), which manages urban passenger transport in Strasbourg, has announced the recruitment of 400 employees. Reasons for the restructuring are the extension of CTS's network by 2025, but also the need to replace drivers who will be retiring in the next few years. Hence, we estimate the number of net creations at 250.
The company also states that 'to become a driver at the CTS, no particular level of training is required'. Indeed, CTS undertakes to provide training during the job preparation phase and that is why it has entered into a partnership with Pole Emploi, the public employment service.
