European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Gaming and betting Finnish company Veikkaus is planning to cut up to 200 employees. In addition, the terms of employment will change for approximately 330 employees. The co-operation negotiations concern a total of 830 employees.
According to Veikkaus' Director of Channels and Sales, the restructuring is led by the need to modernise and reform the organisation, because the demand for services provided by the company has decreased.
Veikkaus is a state-owned gaming company. Veikkaus' revenue is used to support Finnish NGOs, for instance, in the fields of culture and sports. The company has around 1,600 employees, according to their website.
