Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithuanian online shop Barbora providing food delivery at home services is to create around 200 new jobs in different regions of Lithuania in 2021. As the number of COVID-19 cases is rising in Lithuania, the company is preparing for another e-shopping season and is expanding its team to meet the growing demand for online shopping.
The company has also announced changes in its remuneration policy for product collectors and couriers during the trial period. The company will apply the same basic salary rates to new employees as for older employees during the trial period. Such changes in the company's remuneration policy was prompted by the tense situation in the labour market in Lithuania and the company’s aim to attract more employees.
Barbora is an online shop providing food delivery at home services in Lithuania. The company belongs to Maxima Group since 2017. Currently Barbora employs 813 employees.
