Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French retail chain of sport products Decathlon has announced that it will create over 500 jobs at its new production facility in Brześć Kujawski. The factory is expected to be launched by the end of 2021. The company is to hire 250 employees first; when reaching the full capacity later, it plans to employ around 600 people at the site. The unit will produce bicycles for customers from Eastern Europe and Baltic countries.
Decathlon, headquartered in Villeneuve d'Ascq (France), was founded in 1976. Currently, the company has over 1,600 stores in 57 countries and employs more than 93,000 staff worldwide. In Poland, Decathlon has been operating since 2001; it has 60 stores and two distribution centres across the country.
