Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Mercator Group, the largest Slovenian retail trade chain, opened 100 new job posts. The ownership was recently transferred from a bankrupt retailer Agrokor to a newly established Croatian Fortenova Group. After a long financial consolidation, Fortenova’s management is expecting stable growth and new hirings. The need for additional staff emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of 100 jobs are based in Osrednjeslovenska and Gorenjska region. Most searched occupations are sellers, butchers, bakers, cooks, and workers in logistics.
At the end of 2020, the company has 9,726 employees.
