Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Germany-based KION Group, a worldwide leading producer of forklifts, warehouse equipment and industrial lorries, announced that it will create 250 new jobs at its factory in Kołbaskowo near Szczecin by 2023. The facility has a research and development centre as well as office space, with an area of 44,000 square metres, and the company plans to increase its production capacity adding new production lines in the near future. The centre was built in compliance with the most stringent environmental protection guidelines; the location is strategically located near the German capital. Currently, the company employs 150 staff at the site.
A previous business expansion was announced by the company in July 2020 (150 jobs created).
