Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US e-commerce company Amazon has announced it will hire 600 new employees for its logistics centres in Spain as part of its expansion plan in the country.
Specifically, the company is looking for different profiles: operators, maintenance technicians, human resources personnel, operations and logistics managers, and doctors, among others. The jobs are divided into junior and senior positions within the selection process. For positions of responsibility, the company requires university degrees or vocational training in line with each job.
In 2021, Amazon opened a new logistics centre in Dos Hermanas (Seville) and wants to open others in Illescas (40 kilometres from Madrid), Murcia, and in Siero, Asturias.
Update 24/09/2021: As part of its announced expansion plan, Amazon has created a new logistics station in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) with a useful surface area of more than 6,600 m2, creating 120 permanent full-time jobs.
