Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
SII Romania, a provider of technical services and IT solutions, announced the creation of 150 new positions for software engineers. The expansion is expected to involve the company's centre in Bucharest and to be completed by the end of 2021. The job creation is driven by the increase in turnover registered by the company during the past year and plans for further consolidation of its position on the Romanian market.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company promoted the concept of “Work from Home” for its employees while for its partners it maintained the price of services, temporarily made payment deadlines more flexible and increased the level of support services provided. The portfolio of SII Romania customers covers mainly IT, Banking & Finance, Energy, Automotive, Transportation, Aerospace & Defense and other services for which the company delivers both digital software and engineering software projects for local and international markets.
In Romania, the company has a workforce of 350. The SII Group was founded in 1977 and employs over 10,000 software engineers across 19 countries.
