Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German truck manufacturer MAN Trucks announced that it will create over 1,670 new jobs at its production facility in Niepołomice. As part of New MAN strategy, the company is to invest €95 million (PLN 420 million) in the expansion of the factory in 2020-2022, which will significantly increase its production capacity.
The site is expected to be operational in September 2022, but the recruitment process has already started. Ultimately, over 2,500 people will be employed at the newly created site, both on the production line and in the administrative area. At this stage, the company is looking for fitters and intra-company logistics specialists. MAN will hire experienced specialists as well as the employees without experience in the industry. Special training will be provided for candidates. Amongest others, the company offers a wide range of social and financial benefits. For example, candidates can get up to about €1200 (PLN 5,500) gross salary. The average daily production capacity is expected to amount to over 300 vehicles and 200 cabins.
The investment is supported by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Polish Investment Zone in Niepołomice.
In Poland, MAN has been operating since 1996, it has three factories in the country (Niepołomice, Kraków and Starachowice), employing over 5,000 people across the country. MAN Trucks has been operating in Niepołomice since October 2007, specialising in the production of heavy utility vehicles. It currently employs about 828 people in the Niepołomice site.
