Description

Hotel Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort and Spa has opened on 1 July 2021 and employed 180 permanent employees. According to the hotel, the recruitment has started in February and has finished in May 2021. The hotel will additionally employ seasonal workers.

The hotel is located between the towns of Rijeka and Opatija, on Croatia's northern Adriatic coast. The hotel offers 132 rooms and 62 villas and suits. The resort also boasts six restaurants and bars, a 3,700m2 spa and health club, a private beach with mooring spots, a kids club, as well as four meeting rooms and outdoor spaces for meetings and events.

The hotel is invested by Czech-based JTH Holding and worth more than 105 million euros. It is one of the biggest investments in the Croatian tourism sector.

Hilton's EMEA Executive Vice President of EMEA area revealed that the company is planning to open 40 new Hilton facitilies in Europe in 2021, thanks to the lifted travelling restrictions and the gradual recovery from the pandemic.

Croatia's tourism is in a phase of recovery. Since the beginning of the year 2021, there have been about 2.7 million tourist arrivals. Tourism contributes some 20% of Croatia's GDP. In 2019, a record-high 20 million tourists visited the country.
