Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French provider of processors SiPearl has announced that it will create 1,000 jobs in Europe by 2025. The business expansion involves several countries, starting with France and Germany.
Initially, the company plans to hire ten employees per month at its units in France and Germany, which specialises in digital semiconductor development, high-performance computing software, embedded security and encryption, and embedded Linux. SiPearl is committed to recruiting staff with diverse profiles, experiences, cultures and nationalities, notably looking to increase the number of women working in its profession.
Founded in January 2020, SiPearl operates in digital technology, AI and connected mobility as well as designs low-power microprocessor for the European exascale supercomputer. SiPearl is also a member of the Mont-Blans 2020 consortium to equip Europe with a dedicated modular and energy-efficient computing microprocessor. Currently, the company employs more than 30 staff in Europe.
