Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
International courier and express mail service provider DHL Supply Chain, a subsidiary of courier company DHL, has announced that it will create over 800 jobs at its new unit in Żerniki near Poznań. The logistics centre, consisting of 105,000 square metres, is expected to be launched in August 2021. The unit is planned to provide its services to Zalando, an online clothing retailer.
DHL is a part of Deutsche Post DHL Group. Worldwide, DHL employs 360,000 people in 220 countries and regions. In Poland, DHL Supply Chain has been operating since 2002. Previous restructuring cases included creation of 300 jobs announced in January 2019 (DHL Supply Chain2019_01-PL) and creation of 700 jobs announced in April 2019 (DHL Supply Chain2019_04-PL).
