Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Alstom Transport, the Romanian subsidiary of the French Alstom Group, plans to hire 100 people at its Bucharest centre by the end of 2021. Alstom is a multinational rolling stock manufacturer operating worldwide in rail transport markets, active in the fields of passenger transportation, signalling, and locomotives. The new positions are for engineers in the fields of digital traffic control and infrastructure solutions.
The hiring process is part of the €120 million contract awarded by the Romanian state rail carrier, CFR SA, to the Asocierea RailWorks consortium in which Alstom is the main partner. As part of the contract, Alstom will work on the rehabilitation and modernisation of a section of the Romanian European Rhine-Danube rail corridor.
Currently, Alstom has a workforce of 464 employees in Romania.
The company has over 70,000 employees in 70 countries and 250 sites, globally.
