Description
As confirmed on 21 May 2021, the German fish processing company Gottfried Friedrichs KG will be closing its factory in Waren by the end of March 2022 which will result in the loss of 120 employees. The company’s spokesperson confirmed that Gottfried Friedrichs will be relocating production to its cheaper, Polish factory in Döbel with 170 employees. Works’ council and management have already agreed to a social plan. All employees at the Waren factory rejected the offer to relocate to Döbel. Further details of the scoial plan have yet to be published. However, according to the works’ council compensation will ensure a reduced economic burden for the employees.
Gottfried Friedrichs has currently 370 employees in Europe.
